At Top Notch Turf in Townsville, North Queensland Buffalo is available as a premium high-grade NQ Buffalo, or as a 50/50 Buffalo and Couch blend known as Builder’s Buffalo. This mix is a popular choice with new builders because it combines the best qualities of both grasses in one product.


Widely used across North Queensland, North Queensland Buffalo is also commonly referred to as Tropical Buffalo or Carpet Grass. It features a broad leaf and rich dark green colour that stays lush for most of the year. Suited to warm climates, it handles the wet season well and remains resilient in heavy moisture.


We supply and lay this low-maintenance turf, which is pest resistant and needs minimal fertiliser to keep it looking verdant.
